Mt Taranaki bush walk, 2019
Here is a selection from last year. Tricky to get the exposure right in the dark conditions, and my 23mm Fuji lens was flaring like a MF.
Here in Taranaki, NZ, we are under heavy manners. The Covid19 lockdown, so no one is venturing far from the digs. The streets of New Plymouth are largely abandoned.
Meeting Of The Waters has long been a favourite spot for summer swimming, with its rope and deep water hole, but was deserted today as we went and picnicked on its banks.
The pasture next to it had four friendly horses, always a favourite black and white subject. Herding animals in the time of herd immunity…? Ok, bad pun…
I was fortunate to photograph some very important Impressionist paintings for an Australian collector some months ago in Sydney. The works included Pissarro, Sisley, Signac, Monet, Rupert Bunny and John Russell.
It was essential to capture the texture of the canvases as the works were reproduced as fine art canvas prints, 1:1 ratio.
In recent months i have moved to Oakura, near New Plymouth in New Zealand, and am now based here after 20 years in Australia.
I grew up in NP, and have moved back to help out my family. Part of this involves managing the family art collection and rebooting Kreisler Gallery.
I am of course available for photography assignments, and am putting the feelers out for work across NZ. Hit me up with any enquiries.

I shot for several galleries at the recent Sydney Contemporary art show.
Below is a selection for Pace Gallery (New York, London, Beijing, Palo Alto, Geneva, Seoul, Hong Kong), and for Stark White Gallery in Auckland.
In May I shot fashion in Bangkok for the clothing company TEPP, at Dreamer Studio. The studio had a nice rustic vibe about it, and was sufficient size for full length shots. I was assisted by a great local photographer Ake, and the shoot consisted of men's clothing, men's underwear, and women's sports wear.
I went to Angkor around Xmas of 2015. I have always loved visiting ruins of ancient civilisations - I went to many sites in Mexico as a kid in the 1970s, such as Tikal and Montealban.
Angkor is incredible, and it is hard to convey the scale of the civilisation that existed there, and the complexity of the structural engineering that was utilised by the builders.
As I was anticipating conducting a photography workshop at Gold City Shoes in Bangkok last week I had done some shoe photo tests in my lounge in Sydney. The best shoe I had kicking around was this handmade brogue by the revered British shoe maker, Grenson. I shot this on a white seamless with 2 Profoto strobes through an octabox and grid respectively.

Gold City Shoes sell approximately 5 million shoes per year, and supply boots to the Thai military. Their warehouse is massive, and below are some Iphone pics of the interior.
