Mitla, Mexico

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Mitla  in Oaxaca has amazing pre hispanic ruins, which feature very intricate stone work. Anne-Marie took this shot when we were there in 2003, on her Hasselblad. The film was Portra 400VC. She still misses the ‘blad, which we sold to buy a Mamiya AFD with. Recently she’s been trawling Ebay looking at secondhand ones. I tell her she would have to buy a digital back, and have taken a keen interest in the newly announced one from Leaf:

I happened upon this apparition in St Kilda this afternoon. Where psychedelia meets the inkblot test!

Goldilocks and a bear called Goldie

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Lucy Kreisler was given responsibility for looking after Goldie for a few days, from her Creche. She has to contribute her narrative with the bear to a diary of Goldie Adventures, with accompanying photo. She thought a photo shoot would be an exciting experience for the bear, and asked us to help out. The use of the old Cokin star filter gives the shot a bit of an 80′s feel.

Making Jamaica in Mexico City

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Here are some pictures of hibiscus flowers, which are used to make the Mexican drink, Jamaica, pronounced HA-MY-KA. We took these shots in 2003, on a trip to Mexico, at my aunts house.
